Day four of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 was full of incredible presentations from some of our favorite designers! We pulled together highlights from a few shows to give you a little refresher course — you know, just in case your mind has officially gone into sartorial overload.
DKNY showed outside the tents in one of New York’s trendiest zip codes. Set against a graffiti backdrop, models, like Karlie Kloss, strut down the runway donning baseball caps and carrying backpacks. And just in case you couldn’t remember what show you were watching, the clothing served as a helpful reminder by proudly displaying the DKNY label head-to-toe.
The collection, filled with swimsuits, trouser shorts, high slit gowns, and jackets, proved that sporty is sexy. And to cap off the show? A surprise appearance from Rita Ora — who took a sassy stroll down the catwalk.
Diane von Furstenberg presented her Spring 2014 lineup to a crowd of eager onlookers and it … was … incredible. She set the style bar high with pieces boasting the stellar prints DVF is so famous for. Models sauntered down the catwalk in versatile separates, sexy wrap dresses and supreme nighttime attire. And, who should close the show but Naomi Campbell herself. Perfection.
On our way over to Zac Posen, we popped into Birchbox Local’s lounge to get makeup touchups, hairstyling, and nails inspired by Ruffian. On site the team from Benefit was fixing fashionistas’ brows, and of course, we were able to put together a custom Birchbox for ourselves — definitely a highlight of our day!
Backstage at Zac Posen, the makeup and styling teams were deep in action. We spotted the designer as he greeted model Coco Rocha, who then sat down to be prepped by a team of stylists. How’s that for service? As the designer made last minute checks of his stunning collection, we caught up with his right hand man Simon de Beaupre, who was anxious about the show. "[The collection] is a conclusion of three months of hard work and passion. We poured our hearts into it, so we hope it all goes well."
As Morgan Taylor nail artists painted on the finishing touches, we whisked down to grab a front-row seat to see the gorgeous gowns. A sea of girly frocks and flowing chiffon dresses filled the space and as quickly as it began, it was over.
Bring it on day five …
