Herve Leger by Max Azria Spring 2014 at NYFW: Watch Here!

Think Herve Leger is only for slim women? “Absolutely not!” said Lubov Azria, wife of Max Azria and Chief Creative Officer of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP backstage just minutes before her Spring 2014 collection hit the runway. Instead, “It all has to do [with] attitude,” she said.
Herve Leger’s latest lineup had an exotic attitude, merging Polynesian body art with wearable urban wear. The style was achieved by combining “something that’s very traditional with something that’s very old,” explained Lubov.
While it’s no surprise they’re working with bandages, “we wanted to bring more sportswear pieces [into the collection],” she added. At that, models strutted down the catwalk wearing short shorts, clear-cut tops, and dresses featuring fringed details, pronounced waists, and plenty of zippers. Instead of stitching them vertical, zippers were strategically placed horizontally across the clothes.
“Everybody knows Herve Leger for evening, not really for day,” said Lubov. “Sportswear pieces and separates are really important to us — they’re actually in the forefront of the collection this season.”
