Spring 2014’s sporty streak continues thanks to Gucci’s Milan Fashion Week showing.
The luxury label’s creative director, Frida Giannini, presented an athletically-inspired lineup of clothing featuring mesh tops, basketball shorts, track pants and strappy bras.
However, in true Gucci form, the forthcoming offering was undeniably chic. Pieces were crafted from luxe fabrics like suede and leather. Satin shorts were splashed with brilliant jewel tones, arranged in patterns derived from the Art Nouveau illustrations of Erté,
Fringe handbags boasting bold shades of blue and purple also made an appearance on the runway, and we’re willing to bet these become the ‘It’ accessory of the season. If you need any more convincing, look to our style crush, Blake Lively, who sat front and center for the sartorial parade. She’s sure to don a slew of the designer duds come spring.
Our verdict? Gucci — as always — was simply stunning.
