Raf Simons invited us to a garden party for Christian Dior’s Spring 2014 runway show.
With hundreds of flowers hanging from the rafters, models kept to theme in floral silk shorts and skirts. “It’s that DNA that I’m very attracted to myself, like nature and some flowers, everything we know so well from the brand,” Simons told WWD before the show.
Colors were all across the board, including bursts or oranges, blues, burgundy, pinks and greens. Ultra-feminine pieces included flirty A-line skirts, floor length gowns, and sheer sweaters. Masculinity was also present, shown via oversized vests, trousers and jackets.
To further accent the runway, accessories like dripping, beaded necklaces complemented the models’ gold eyeshadow and eyebrows. Giving off a sophisticated feel, hair was slicked back in a tight ponytail.
Raf Simons certainly revealed a secret garden for society, and we hope come spring, we can get in.
