Birthday Girl Betsey Johnson's NYFW Catwalk Celebration!
There just isn't any runway show like a Betsey Johnson runway show, and the famed designer upped the ante at New York Fashion Week during her spring collection debut at Espace on Wednesday night (September 11).
The label presented to a packed house with celebs like AnnaSophia Robb, Robert Verde, Bridgette Marquardt, and Angela Simmons in attendance, eagerly awaiting the spring 2013 showing.
Coming as a surprise to no one, the offering was just as flamboyant as ever – but done tastefully so, as only Betsey Johnson can do. Models playfully strutted the catwalk in a bevvy of funky bathing suits, wild dresses and other various unorthodox ensembles…or lack there of.
The party carried on even after the ladies were off the runway, as Betsey threw herself a HUGE 70th birthday bash complete with confetti-slinging models, daughter Lulu springing out of a birthday cake, pal Cyndi Lauper crooning “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and the birthday girl herself doing cartwheels and splits all down the runway.
