Show-Stopping Styles: 10 Looks We Love from the 2012 Teen Choice Awards
Surely one of the most energetic and exciting events of the year, the 2012 Teen Choice Awards took place in Universal City, California this past Sunday night (July 22).
The evening was full of big wins and surprises, however the striking fashions on the pink carpet are what have set the entertainment and fashion worlds alike, all a buzz.
Flirty mini dresses dominated the scene, as did bright neon colors and body-hugging silhouettes. While we were left swooning over a slew of the ensembles debuted that night, there were 10 looks that truly stole the style spotlight.
Read on to see which 10 looks we loved from the 2012 Teen Choice Awards!
Demi Lovato: She’s the hostess with the mostess and the newly blonde bombshell looked dynamite and daring in a geometric Falguni + Shane Peacock frock, which was equipped with beaded embellishments, leather detailing and feathers at the hem. She pulled her tresses back in a mega-high pony, threw on some seriously sexy black pumps and truly wowed the crowds at last night’s event!
Selena Gomez: Our favorite childhood star turned sexy Hollywood siren hit up the soiree in a hot pink DSQUARED2 dress boasting a skater-style silhouette. Opting for sleek hair, simple ankle strap heels and no accessories, this young starlet proved that less is certainly way, WAY more!
Taylor Swift: Country’s sweetheart looked all things feminine and flirty in a pale pink Maria Lucia Hohan dress with sexy side cutouts (which seems to be the songstress’ style of choice these days). Complete with gorgeous drop earrings, nude peep-toe pumps and her usual dramatic eyeliner, it’s no wonder why Miss Swift’s mega-glam getup has earned her one of the top fashion spots on our list.
Lea Michele: This spunky nominee showed off her killer shape in an ultra-sexy strapless Atelier Versace mini dress, which had subtle peplum accents and an exquisite floral print. Letting her hair down for the event, the ‘Glee’ star opted for loose ombre tresses, silver pointed-toe pumps and minimal jewelry – we couldn’t take our eyes off of her (and we’re sure Cory Monteith couldn’t either)!
Miranda Cosgrove: The ‘iCarly’ cutie looked all grown up in a metallic Colette Dinigan drop waist frock, which had swanky diamond embellishments throughout. Completing her ensemble with a chic box clutch and Stella McCartney ankle-strap heels, this lovely looker strayed away from her normal tween-y M.O. and we loved that she took a risk – it paid off!
Holland Roden: Showing off her vintage flare, this rising style star turned up in a retro-inspired Alice and Olivia number. Looking vibrant in blue and yellow floral print, Holland polished off her ensemble with classic nude Christian Louboutin pumps sophisticated matching skinny belt.
Kat Graham: Can you say print perfection? Kat definitely caught our eye in her Mara Hoffman neon Aztec-print mini. Miss Graham finished off her look with a chain link necklace, nude clutch and colorful purple and blue pumps.
Victoria Justice: Proving you can be sexy and subtle at the same time, this multi-talented starlet shined in a tri-colored animal print high/low dress. Paired with a plum clutch, synched waist and nude pointy-toed pumps, Justice's Gomez Gracia frock equaled one red hot arrival.
Nikki Reed: Sophistication at its finest, the "Twilight" darling looked prim and proper in a Contrarian NY top and skirt, Brian Atwood nude wedges and sleek Jimmy Choo clutch. Miss Reed's preppy creation was further played up by pulling back her coif into a high pony.
Nina Dobrev: We think she looks great in just about everything, but Nina was particularly fabulous in this teal, strapless and structured J. Mendel dress. Amplified by shiny earrings and bracelet as well as metallic strappy heels, Dobrev's look seriously shined bright.
