Haute How-To: 5 Ways to Style Leather this Spring

With warmer weather steadily approaching, it’s almost time to pack away those winter threads for their sartorial hibernation.

However, one popular fabric from this season we just cannot do without this spring is leather, and luckily — we won’t have to!

The plush textile is totally appropriate to don as the temps rise, and we put together five trendy ways to wear it.

Wear a tank. With our heavier leather options sitting out the season, we’re in the market for a mega-trendy top. Enter, the peplum tank. Styled with a pair of white skinny jeans and T-strap wedges, this piece will make your spring/summer days so much haute-r. For a leggier look, try this piece with a pair of floral shorts!

Flaunt your flirty side. We are obsessed with the look of a leather skater skirt. The girly bottom lends a playful, yet edgy touch to spring clothing, and we can’t get enough of it. One ensemble you’ll catch us in this season is a flared skirt paired with a sleeveless chambray top. The two pieces together are the perfect juxtaposition of casual and formal wear — making for one fun warm weather getup.

Dress it up. We’ve all seen body-hugging mini’s made from sexy textile, but one way to pull off leather during the spring/summer, is to sport a loose-fitting frock. A relaxed silhouette will look chic and effortless, which is exactly how you want to appear when pulling off such a strong look ... especially when wearing during the daytime. Pair your dress with strappy flats and minimal jewelry (stick with studs), and you can take this look anywhere from brunch with your man to karaoke night with your BFFs.

Slip into shorts. Pack away your leather leggings and invest in an amazing pair of leather shorts. This article of clothing can easily transition from day-to-night, depending on how you style it. For daytime, pair it with a playful printed top and platform sandals. At night, slip into a slouchy tank and a chunky necklace to make a sexy statement!

Wear it as an accent. While we love a chic moto jacket, the outerwear option may be a bit too bulky for warmer weather. One way to get your fabric fix is to purchase a denim jacket — spring’s hottest staple — with sleeves made of luxe leather. Trust us, this piece will be a great investment for the season, as it can be paired with virtually anything you have in your existing wardrobe.
