Every shopaholic has landed a case of buyer's remorse. Given the addiction, it's almost unavoidable. But alas, help has arrived.
The scientists at Brigham Young University have come up with a creative solution to help eliminate regret from the purchasing process — put on a pair of high heels!
Why? According to their research, wearing shoes and apparel that increases our awareness of balance leads to smarter decisions and lowers the likelihood of impulse buys.
After putting test subjects through a battery of buying exercises while playing a Wii Fit video game, standing on one foot, and leaning back in a chair, BYU professor Jeffrey Larson concluded, “If you’re someone who tends to overspend, or you’re kind of an extreme person, then maybe you ought to consider shopping in high heels.”
Ok — we surrender.
