Craving the Leggy Look?: 5 Sure-Fire Ways to Elongate Your Gams
We can’t all have naturally long legs like Gisele Bundchen or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but we sure can fake their sultry stem look!
With skin-bearing seasons upon us, we’re all feeling the need to shed bulky outerwear, which means your gams (ready or not) will soon be making their debut.
So, whether you’re short or vertically gifted, we’ve got five tips to share that will help to either elongate your stems to the length you crave, or simply highlight the enviable feature you naturally possess.
1.) Length is key!: If you’re a shorty, then take note: Skirts or shorts that hit at or slightly above your knee will only shorten your legs. Instead don shorts that hit mid thigh or stick with capri or chino style pants. Make sure to be aware of lengths for tops, too. If you’re wearing a long blazer then make sure your wearing short shorts. If you want to wear pants one day, make sure you’re sporting them with a crop top or cropped jacket.
2.) Avoid tops that elongate your torso: Long tunics and blazers will only elongate your torso, causing your legs to look shorter.
3.) High waisted shorts/pants are your friend: This style creates the illusion that your legs start higher up, making your legs look long and lean. However, disregard this tip if you have a short torso – high waisted pants are NOT your friend.
4.) Heels, Heels, Heels: Did we mention heels? Give yourself some added height in a pair of sky-high pumps or wedges. This style of footwear makes legs look sexy and majorly extended for the woman at any height! If you already have short legs, steer clear of ankle straps. These will cut your legs off at your ankles, causing them to look itty-bitty.
5.) Stick with your skinny jeans: Wide leg and cuffed pants will only cause your legs to look shorter and wider. The skinny jean thins out your legs and when paired with a pair of pumps or platform wedges you’ll create double the elongating look!
