Box Office Bling: "Oz" Costumes Adorned with Over 260K Swarovski Crystals
It’s a gourmet buffet of visual stimulation, and “Oz: The Great and Powerful” owes its blinged-out aesthetic to the good folks over at Swarovski.
According to a report, the crystal giant supplied over 260,000 stones to the wardrobe department that outfitted Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, James Franco, and their costars.
Swarovski Elements executive board member Nadja Swarovski explained, "Swarovski’s history of working with costume, jewelry, and set designers on some of Hollywood’s most iconic productions goes back 75 years to when Dorothy tapped her Swarovski-encrusted ruby slippers.”
"So it’s thrilling to add sparkle to [director] Sam Raimi’s incredible new film,” added Nadja of the completed project.
