Serious Style Craving: We Feel the Need, the Need for Tweed
Introduced into the fashion world between 1890 and 1920, tweed apparel has always come across as chic, classy and timeless (they were also that decade’s version of the power suit – bet you didn’t know that!).
However, the mistake that many women make these days with tweed is in the styling department. Wear a tweed jacket with an A-line skirt one time and you’ll forever land yourself in granny territory.
Now that this particular fabric is back in action for fall, we want to give you some styling tips so that you can wear these pieces to perfection! The key is simple; to offset the ‘girly-ness’ of tweed, wear it with something edgy and sultry like leather shorts or neon skinny jeans paired with some sky-high pointed-toe pumps.
Also, be aware of sizing. Tweed tops (shirts, blazers, etc…) can tend to be bulky. So, be sure to pair them with a more body-hugging bottom and vice versa.
It’s easy to see that the style world has fallen back in love with tweed, and so have we! It’s without a doubt, a total fall-must for both summer and fall!
