Hat Trends for Fall/Winter 2011
Hat trends for this fall and upcoming winter are anything but boring.
This season, we’re bedecking our heads with looks inspired by the 60s and 70s as well as looks donned by Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn themselves; two incredibly fashionable ladies.
Marc Jacobs sent models down the runway in pillbox hats, Ralph Lauren favored the cloche hat and Gucci, Emilio Pucci and Christian Dior all featured the fedora hat during their runway shows.
The wide-brim floppy hat is huge this season – no pun intended. Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens and the style maven herself, Rachel Zoe can be seen donning this 70’s-inspired retro look. This hat has the potential to make even the most casual of outfits look trendy and chic.
The pillbox hat was a savvy look back in the day and has made quite the comeback this season. Different variations of this particular style are available. Some are more conservative and classy while others are extremely wild and over-the-top (For example, Princess Beatrice’s famous “pretzel” hat). But hey, if the hat fits…
Cloche hats are very sophisticated. This style can be worn day or night and adds a certain amount of effortless elegance to any look. Lastly, look for the classic fedora. This style just isn’t for the boys any more ladies! You can either wear an original style or the adapted wide-brim version. Either way, you’ll be looking oh so chic and sassy!
