Whether he's whipping up a new line of haircare products, performing makeover magic on TLC's "What Not to Wear" or soothing the strands of Ashley Greene and Angelina Jolie, Ted Gibson is undoubtedly the man you need to know when it comes to managing your mane.

Hoping to get in on a little star treatment ourselves, DIY Fashion caught up with the celeb hair honcho to discuss everything from spring style trends to a must-know tip when trying to grow out your coif. Here's what Gibson had to say:

DIY Fashion: Many women opt for lighter locks in the spring/summer. We know this can be damaging on hair, what is the one product you recommend to keep your coif looking healthy?
Ted Gibson: Condition, condition, condition! After coloring your hair it's very important to keep nourishing it to avoid further damage. Use a color safe conditioner that will condition your hair while preserving your color such as Ted Gibson Clarity Color Conditioner.

DIY: Just like clothing, hair styles change with season. What trend will we see for spring?
TG: Side parts will still be major this spring! Jazz your look up by placing a trendy barrette in the thinner side of the part closer to your ear. Hair accessories like headbands will be everywhere — they add something special to your look.

DIY: You work with everyone from A-list celebrities to everyday women, what is the most common issue your clients complain of?
TG: Most women have issues with their hair and feel there's room for improvement! I find that most women want for their hair to appear fuller and more voluminous.

DIY: Does getting your hair trimmed regularly really make it grow faster?
TG: Yes! You should get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. This will prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft, thus allowing hair to grow longer.
