Sold! Gianni Versace’s Miami home was auctioned off at a whopping $41.5 million on Monday (September 16).
The new happy holders are a business group, which includes the owners of the Jordache denim label. The mansion contains 10 bedrooms and was originally placed on the market for $125 million in June 2013. Bidders had to prove that they had $40 million on-hand and forced to escrow $3 million with the current owner’s firm.
"Every room is a work of art,'' said Jill Eber, the real estate agent who listed the house last year. "If the person buying it is not already a celebrity, it gives them instant celebrity status — if they want it."
Although the price tag was high, we say it’s a pretty good deal considering the history and stories it holds.
