Don’t get us wrong — coffee breaks are an essential part in our day. But important enough to risk losing $550,900 worth of Hermès bags? Doubtful.
On Tuesday (October 22), two French drivers were carting over a half-million dollars worth of Hermès goods from Paris to Milan. Prior to reaching their destination, the drivers decided to grab breakfast, leaving the van completely unattended.
A 47-year-old Italian man took advantage of the situation, snatched the handbags, and went on his merry way. Luckily, police quickly recovered the accessories and arrested the robber, but the Hermès press presentation in Milan was still cancelled.
Next time, we’d suggest a drive-through.
