Making critical steps toward a more humane business philosophy, Shiseido has committed to putting an end to the vast majority of its animal testing practices.
Per a company press release, the popular personal care brand will stop using their goods on animals “except in exceptionally rare cases in which the safety of an ingredient has been called into question.”
Furthermore, Shiseido will test their products that are sold in China, as there is a legal mandate to so by the national government.
However, the Chinese market has been blamed by the company for poor performance in 2012, with net profit dropping 21 percent in the region.
