The fashion industry is rife with litigation these days, and the team over at Balenciaga is gearing up for a day in court.
According to a WWD report, stylist Marie- Amélie Sauvé’s legal representative filed documents in her defense with regard to a legal war being waged by the Spanish label.
Balenciaga is suing both Sauvé and ex-employee Nicolas Ghesquière for allegedly harming the brand with “harmful” remarks.
Slated for a hearing on February 4, 2014, the case could cost the defendants $9.2 million over statements they made in an interview with fledgling System magazine in early 2013.
Ghesquière told the publication, “…I began to feel as though I was sucked dry, like they wanted to steal my identity while trying to homogenize things.”
